 Hello everyone! Im Mary Rose Cerda and for this video I will explain what Multimedia is.

    ==>does it help in our daily lives?

    ==>is it a big benefit for all of us?

    ==> is there anything good about it?

    These are some sample question that I will discuss.

    But before we know the answers for that, let us first find out what is multimedia really is and where it came from. Base on my own research multimedia is two words that combined for one meaning.

    ==>Multi – means “many”

    ==> media – means “system of communication”

    ==>In plural form its called “medium”

    In the other work multimedia is a transmission that combine media of communication. In plural form it’s called “medium”

    In other word multimedia is a transmission that combine media of communication.

    Some example of Multimedia are text, audio, animation or video into a single presentation.

    Multimedia is very helpful in many ways its helps a lot in business, home, public places specially in school it motivates a lot of students to learn more languages through audio visual and animation support. It also helps create English contexts since an important aspect of learning a language is developing their grammar, vocabulary and genres.   And also have a lot of benefit when it comes from Deeper understanding, improve problem solving, increase positive emotion, because it takes advantage of the brain’s ability to make connection between verbal and visual representation of content.

 

and now let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of multimedia

ADVANTAGES CREATIVITY

==>It brings more life to discussions. VARIETY It caters all types of learners. COST-EFFECTIVE Multimedia mostly requires only a one-time purchase of devices and software, which can be used unlimited times thereafter. EVALUATION It offers ideal learning assessment tools which are also entertaining for the students. REALISTIC APPROACH It provides approaches which make learning more realistic. WIDE-VARIETY OF SUPPORT Multiple media formats are available for use, with different models being able to create multimedia. TRENDY The current trend of culture leans toward technology, and a great number of resources are being made available for different media formats

 

DISADVANTAGES ACCESSIBILITY

==>Multimedia requires electricity to be operated, which may not be available in some rural areas or in may not be consistently available due to shortages and blackouts. DISTRACTING Mulitimedia may take away the focus from the lesson due to its attention-grabbing formats. COSTLY Production of multimedia is more expensive than others because it is made up of more than one medium. Production of multimedia requires an electronic device, which may be relatively expensive. Multimedia requires electricity to run, which adds to the cost of its use. TIME CONSUMING Creating multimedia requires more time. Requires Mastery Multimedia requires consistent and long practice to master, which may take a lot of time and energy from the user. LIMITED SUPPORT/COMPATIBILITY There is a wide variety of gadget models which arouses incompatibilities of media formats. FRAGILE The device used for multimedia must be used with care; exposure to moisture or other elements could cause expensive, irreparable damage which would require another purchase of a device.

 

The significance of Multimedia is anything and everything that you watch and listen in a form of text, photograph, audio, video and many. This is usually recoded and played, displayed or accessed by information content processing devices such as computerized and electronic devices. In the multimedia we can use being in the business, schools, home, public places and virtual reality. These have many functions to do many things and have made the things to more mobile.
